OOC: The Mrs. Malcolms

malcolmeffectBefore I get myself confused I think I need to get this all down.
Mrs. Maya Angela Curtis Malcolm.(Married 6 years; 21 to 27) Maya was born in Senegal and came to the states for college. She and Ian met while they were both undergraduate students. During Ian's graduate study they were married. The relationship went well and after 4 years Maya got pregnant. Ian was 25 when Kelly was born. Engrossed in his Phd and trying to juggle the time Maya required quickly burned him out. He started spending more and more time on his research. After a year Maya convinced herself Ian didn't have time for a family and filed for a divorce. Ian found out when he came home from a conference to her packing. Maya still insists he doesn't care or want to spend time with his daughter. Despite rarely seeing each other Kelly and Ian are very close. Ian really loves and cherishes his daughter despite time constraints and his strife with her mother.
Mrs. Aria Malcolm. (Married 1 year; 28-29) After finishing his Phd Ian met Aria. She was a graduate student at the University of Texas when he arrived to do research. She was a student of music and he was teaching Quantum mechanics. Aria and Ian were very close and married quickly. Aria had even said she wanted him to gain custody of Kelly. Kelly, now 4 was starting gymnastics. Things went well for a year. Ian saw Kelly a lot and Aria seemed to be happy even when he was busy with classes and research. Things broke down when Kelly broke several items practicing baton twirling in the house. Aria slapped her and Ian immediately threw Aria out of the house. He divorced her and never felt guilty about it. He still cares about Aria but hitting his daughter ended any possibility of a relationship.
Mrs. Ellen Malcolm. (Married 3 years; 32-35) Ellen and Ian had both been divorced and dated extensively for a year before another year of engagement. Ellen rarely involved herself in Ian's work and didn't ask much in the way of time. Ian was wealthy from research money paid to him by Hammond for consulting on Jurassic Park. Ellen was an excessive woman. Ian left for his evaluation of Jurassic Park and after his injuries was reported dead. Upon returning to the states Ian's first contact with his wife was six months later when he received divorce papers. (Ian however doesn't know if she came to visit while he was unconscious and in a coma during his early recovery) Ellen told Ian she was better off when she thought he was dead.
Sarah Harding (On and off for a year) Daughter of Gerry Harding; chief veterinarian for Jurassic Park. She is a animal behaviorist who specializes in the behaviors of extinct animals. Ian met Sarah on several occasions while working with Hammond. When Ian was bedridden and unable to walk Sarah helped nurse him back to health. She and Ian had a fairly steady relationship until he was back on his feet. She left soon after he learned to walk again for an expedition in Africa. Sarah tried to restart the relationship several times when she would return to the states. She always left after a month or so and Ian quickly gave up on anything becoming serious between them. They are still close friends but there's always friction when they spend too much time together.
